This is a dazzling machine. Check it out -- 4.2 lbs, 1" thick, Magnesium case, 7200 rpm HDD, spectacular HD exhibit, 4 GB memory, 320 GB Hard Drive, Iconic keyboard Windows 7, 4 USB ports, HDMI port, large WiFi,etc. etc. All for under $600! It's fantastic. One begins to wonder what truck they catch these off of. Yes, my title is accurate, "Macbook Killer." Watch at the two machines side by side -- they are fair remarkable the same thing. Yes, the Macbook Pro has a backlit keyboard, ok. But the DM3 has an HDMI port, which means I can effect it to my HDTV and play Neflix or Itunes movies, or youtube, etc. in High Definition. Positive, it has no optical drive, but folks, cd's and dvd's are becoming faded technology, and being replaced by thumb/jump drives. Even software will be coming on these. Actually, the DM3 weighs almsot a pound less than a Macbook by eliminating the optical drive, and the advantages of using an external drive are many. Keyboards are almost identical, case is a toss up, display's are similar, windows 7 vs. Snow Leopard has its plusses and minuses going both ways. Yes, the Macbook is more much for high intensity graphics, but if you are using your computer as most people do, you will not peer the disagreement. But the knockout comes at checkout: It is less than 1/2 the stamp of a similarly configured 13" Macbook Pro!

It is so far satisfactory to any netbook that there is no comparison there. Yes, it's not perfect. It does re-charge slowly, and the trackpad takes some getting old to. But it has so many incredible features, when you factor in the trace, it is the best value out there in ultraportable computing.

I have been using portable computers since the mid-eighties when they were 25 pounds with miniature monochrome screens floppy drives and cost $3000. Now for under $600, they are 1/6th the weight, yet 100 times as rapid with 3000 times the storage and grand more functionality. Mediate about how fabulous this is! You will appreciate this limited machine.

I have had this since the day that it launched and am quite gay with it. I have the Dm3z with the AMD processor and for the heed it is very estimable. I have been happily surprised with the battery life. I have not timed it yet but the battery stays up for hours. Something that may be a negative for some people is that the battery trickle charges when plugged in. It takes forever to fully charge but for me this hasn't caused any problems. I have been taking the battery out of the laptop when it is fully charged and objective running it on AC. This works well and the battery can be removed easily while the laptop is plugged in without powering down. The 13.3 stride conceal is honest about perfect. It is puny enough to carry but stout enough to employ for honest about everything. Plenty of power for day to day computing and for me this includes hulu and divx. I have not tried hooking the laptop up to a television yet so I don't know how fleshy shroud HD will play relieve but divx or flash video window while web browsing on the other half of the conceal works flawlessly. As has been famous elsewhere the touch pad is not the greatest. It is usable but would have been better if the texture of the touch pad itself were different. There are also some driver issues with the multi touch that causes the touch pad to not retort sometimes when coming out of hibernation. Overall I am very pleased with the laptop and recommend it to anyone looking for a light portable to do day to day computing.

Follow up to the touch pad whisper when coming out of hibernation. HP seems to have fixed this with an update since it has not happened in a couple of days.

An absolutely big product with an incredibly convenient build factor! Forget the Intel version; the AMD version comes with ATI discrete graphics and performs noteworthy better and costs $[...] less. The heck with Intel!!!
